Seats for the 2009-10 school year at the Sussex County Charter School for Technology are currently full – but we will accept applications for the waiting list throughout the year. If you have filled out an application for the 2009-10 school year and are currently on a waiting list, you will need to complete a new application for the 2010-11 school year if your student has not been accepted by December 1, 2009.
WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE
That the Charter School is expanding in the 2010-11 school year to include 25 additional seats for 6th graders (50 total) and 50 seats for 7th graders. Applications will also be taken for a waiting list for the 8th grade class.
The 2010-11 school year will see the SUSSEX COUNTY CHARTER SCHOOL FOR TECHNOLOGY in its BRAND NEW SCHOOL – just a mile or two north of the Sussex Technical School on Route 94. With 2 brand new buildings, we will create our own campus, just minutes from Sussex Tech, and will be able to expand to our maximum size of 200 – 50 6th graders, 75 7th graders and 75 8th graders.
Applications for the 2010-11 school year will become available at our OPEN HOUSE, which will be held on Sunday, October 18 from 2:00 – 4:00PM in McNeice Auditorium, or by calling the school office after October 18. You will also be able to download an application from this website at that time. After the Open House, you may schedule a tour of the school if you like. The Application deadline for the 2010-11 school year is Tuesday, December 1 and the lottery drawing will be held at the school on Friday, December 11. As per our charter, seats will be available first to students with siblings currently enrolled in the charter school. After that, seats are offered to any Sparta residents, and all other available seats go into a lottery drawing. When seats are filled, the lottery determines the order of the waiting list for the 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Applications received after December 1 will be placed in the order we receive them following the lottery drawing. Private tours will be scheduled on Mondays through Thursdays between 8:30AM and 4:30PM.
